- Producer – T Bone Burnett
Sam Phillips' FAN DANCE is her first new material in five years and her Nonesuch Records debut. It was produced by her longtime producer T Bone Burnett and features a small band of musicians, including Mark Ribot on guitar and Carla Azar on drums, with contributions from Gillian Welch (bass and vocals) and Van Dyke Parks (arrangement of "Wasting My Time"). FAN DANCE is, in the words of its creator, "a dry, thirsty, disconnected record that was performed rather than produced... no hi-gloss, no big splash intended. We're all wet from big splashes these days."
